Inteva has developed a one-step, Class A, lightweighting service, which can make vehicle components less heavy. This service is centered on the use of a natural fiber mat technology.  The end result is a low mass trim component comprised of a natural fiber mat substrate, that is clad with thermoplastic olefin (TPO) skin containing all required back injection molded features.  

To support this service and minimize/negate the impact of the comparatively higher cost of natural fiber mat materials, specific materials and processes have been developed.  This includes a new skin formulation, a new back injection molded material, and new processing techniques.  These developments eliminate known issues of the one step approach and enable Inteva to reduce the cost by combining several process steps into one
