General Motors Customer Care and Aftersales division (GMCCA) has awarded several Inteva operations with On-Time Shipping Awards for 2012. Inteva Operations in: Adrian, Michigan; Kyungsan, Kyongbuk, Korea (Inteva KDS); and North Kansas City, Missouri were each honored with a Certificate of Excellence at the highest level, Platinum Supplier Status, in recognition of outstanding on-time shipping performance to General Motors Customer Care and Aftersales. Inteva Matamoros Plant 1 in Mexico was honored with a Certificate of Excellence for Silver Supplier Status for their shipping performance. Three other Inteva direct ship locations were also honored at the platinum level.
“Your organization has played an important role in our efforts to design, build and sell the world’s best vehicles,” wrote David Poole, General Motors, Director of Supply Chain and David Drouillard, Executive Director, Global Purchasing in a letter informing Inteva of this high honor. “Your dedication and commitment to consistently perform above expectations are very much appreciated by the entire General Motors team. You have our most sincere congratulations."
GMCCA has very high expectations from their suppliers to meet their schedule requirements, according to Paul Pickels, Production, Control & Logistics Manager in Adrian. This requires significant attention to detail and a great deal of advance planning and coordination to insure high quality parts are available to ship in the correct quantity on the dates required by GMCCA.
Inteva Adrian is responsible for several hundred service part numbers to GMCCA.
“Last year, Adrian shipped over 35,000 pieces to GMCCA with 100% schedule attainment. This is no small achievement since most of this volume is past model product that requires special scheduling of material and special handling of the production builds,” said Paul. “GMCCA has very detailed packaging and shipping expectations for their material that requires significant attention to detail.”
