Troy, Mich., January 6, 2025 – Inteva Products, a leading global automotive supplier of engineered components and systems, will unveil a one-of-a-kind dress made from its signature Inteather™ material at the 2025 Detroit Auto Show Charity Preview. This innovative display marks the 10th anniversary of Inteva’s partnership with Janna Coumoundouros, an award-winning artist, designer, and owner of Lilacpop Studio, a milestone that underscores a decade of collaboration, creativity, and cutting-edge innovation.
The dress, crafted from Inteather – Inteva’s high-quality, eco-friendly alternative to leather – was designed to demonstrate the versatility and sophistication of the material. Known for its durability, lightweight properties, and sustainable production methods, Inteather is a testament to Inteva’s commitment to environmentally responsible and innovative solutions for the automotive industry.
Over the last ten years, the partnership between Inteva and Coumoundouros have brought together two worlds – automotive and fashion. From a samurai armor-inspired dress crafted in collaboration with the Detroit Institute of Arts to unique creations that showcase cutting-edge lighting and intricate carvings, each piece reflects a unique fusion of art, technology, and craftsmanship.
“As we celebrate ten years of partnering with Janna, this year’s showcase is particularly special,” said Aidano Nascimento, Global Creative Director, Design Studio & Marketing, Inteva Products. “This Inteather dress is not just a representation of our material’s innovative qualities, but also a symbol of our longstanding partnership with a designer who shares our passion for pushing the boundaries of design.”
This year’s dress, which will be worn by artist and model Grace Heslip, honors the first Inteva dress created by Coumoundouros – a samurai-inspired gown. It features Inteva’s bold red Inteather material, while introducing avant-garde elements. The design combines dramatic textures and shapes, creating a striking statement piece that honors past inspirations and future possibilities.
“This journey has been about more than designing dresses,” Coumoundouros shared. “It’s about honoring Detroit’s legacy and exploring what’s possible when art and industry come together.”
“At Inteva, we strive to build partnerships that align with our values and push our creativity,” said Marco vom Wege, Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer, Inteva Products. “To collaborate with an artist like Janna to highlight the formability and design flexibility of our Inteather product is a true testament of that mindset.”
The world-famous Detroit Auto Shows remains the premier platform for showcasing automotive advancements, and Inteva’s decade-long involvement reflects the company’s dedication to supporting the industry’s evolution. Over the past ten years, Inteva has used this event to spotlight its innovative materials, reinforcing its role as a key partner to automakers worldwide.
The Detroit Auto Show Charity Preview will be held on January 10 at Huntington Place Show Floor in Detroit, Michigan.
