In honor of Pi Day on March 14, 2017, the People Helping the Underprivileged and Needy (PHUN) Committee observed the day by selling slices of pie to employees at Troy World Headquarters. During the sale, $410 was raised to benefit Wigs 4 Kids.
“Although math enthusiasts know about Pi Day, we’re so happy that Troy employees celebrated with us for our version of this day, which proved to be very tasty,” said Ann Lucas, Senior Customer Service Specialist and PHUN Committee member. “Because of the generosity of those who participated, we’re able to help make a difference in the lives of children and young adults who receive assistance from Wigs 4 Kids.”
Wigs 4 Kids Wellness Center and Salon provides wigs and support services at no charge to children and young adults experiencing hair loss due to cancer, alopecia, trichotillomania, burns and other disorders. Their wig recipients, also known as Ambassadors, range in age from 3 to 18, and are located throughout Michigan.
