The Interior Products Technical Center in Vandalia, Ohio held a Pancake breakfast on June 24 in support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation which helps enrich the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting network. Inteva Vandalia presented checks to Make-A-Wish totally $2,530 on June 28th.
The Inteva Vandalia team’s 2011 Make-A-Wish child is Ceirra, a 17 year old girl who suffers from Systematic Lupus Erthematosus. Ceirra and her family live in Casstown, Ohio. They recently visited the Vandalia Technical Center and had the opportunity to meet the Inteva team members.
Here is Ceirra’s story:
Like most 17-year old girls, Ceirra likes spending time with her friends, listening to country music, and horseback riding. Unlike other teenagers Ceirra was diagnosed with Systematic Lupus Erthematosus. This is an autoimmune disease that can cause inflammation and tissue damage.
Despite the hardships she has had to deal with throughout her life, Ceirra and her families were brought a glimmer of hope when they were told she could have her one true wish granted. Ceirra decided she wanted to go on a Caribbean cruise with her best friend. She wanted to go snorkeling, swim with dolphins, and ride horses on the beach!
This vacation will give Ceirra the chance to do what she loves without having to worry about her disease. Ceirra will also enjoy the priceless gift of hope for the future, strength for tomorrow, and all the wonderful memories her trip will bring to her.
