Inteva Products employees at the company's World Headquarters in Troy embraced the holiday season with a generous spirit, volunteering, and donating goods and more than $5,000 to community and charitable organizations across Metro Detroit as part of the Inteva Cares initiative. Every department selected a cause or mission to support in hopes of making the holiday season more cheerful for neighbors in need.
With 42 locations worldwide, Inteva believes engagement in the local community is the key to creating strong and vibrant communities in which to live and work. The Inteva Cares program encourages philanthropy in the workplace and offers employees the support needed to give back. This latest round of giving benefitted several charities and organizations, which included:
- Adopt-a-Family for Christmas
- Beaumont Children's Hospital
- ConKerr Cancer
- Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan
- HAVEN
- Heartland Health Care Center
- Judson Center
- Lighthouse of Oakland County
- Michigan Humane Society
- Oakland Pet Adoption Center
- Open Hands Food Pantry
- Toys for Tots
"By providing monetary support, donations of household items, and the dedicated work of corporate volunteers, Inteva has exemplified what it means to be a good corporate citizen," said Beth Morrison, president and CEO of HAVEN. "It is only because of the generosity we receive from the community around us that we can continue our efforts to prevent and treat domestic violence and sexual assault. Everyone deserves to live a violence-free life and Inteva is helping make that possible."
Employees working at the Inteva Products World Headquarters in Troy gathered Dec. 12, 2012 for an all-employee meeting to exchange stories about their fundraising, donating and volunteering efforts. Employees listened intently while some even wiped away tears, humbled by the stories of generosity shared by their co-workers.
"This has been an amazing experience for everyone at Inteva Products," said Tom Munley, vice president, human resources. "Our employees took this as a personal commitment and were excited about finding rewarding opportunities to give back and bring joy to others. It is that generous collective spirit that makes Inteva such a great place to work."
The Inteva Cares holiday edition is expected to make a triumphant return next year, when Inteva employees will once again demonstrate the spirit of giving. Until then, the Inteva Cares program will run throughout the year, offering employees various opportunities to give back all year long.
